Something awful is happening here at OSU. The university has proposed budget cuts to the already in debt foreign language department. This really pisses me off and I’ve already sent out a letter to the president of OSU. Here’s a copy of what i sent:

“Dear President,

Curtis Barnard”

I’ve also created a face book group containing the e-mail address of some people to e-mail. If your a student at OSU then please contact the president and others and tell them how you fell. I also went to a mock funeral the other day. The budget cuts would completely wipe out Italian and during the funeral they had a casket to put Italian to rest. To the right you can see the casket along with an Italian instructor.

I just don’t understand how they could cut true educational courses, but leave other shit course and increase funding to athletic programs. I understand that athletics is a big part in encouraging people to attend your school, but it’s a SCHOOL for Christs sake. Academics should always come before sports no matter what some may say. That’s all for my rant now, but know that i’m really pissed of at you OSU. For more information on the fiasco please visit the below link:

C’mon really? I mean seriously can anyone watch FOX news and think they are actually watching news?

I have no problem with what she says and i’m a supporter of any and all free speech, but could anyone really support this fox station? Ignorant people, wait i shouldn’t even honor her with the title ignorant she is just plain stupid.

Well i thought i would post up a link to a .doc file that i made a little while ago. It basically contains places by region that i want to see or visit while in japan. Go ahead and download it and let me know of any interesting places that i should add to the list.

This list is basically my super planning phase, i’m kind of like my dad. I like to make list and organize my thoughts a ton so i can get as much done when the time comes.

Oh yeah the file is hosted on http://www.filedropper.com. Some new site like rapid share, but it’s suppose to be better. Let me know what you think and tell me if there are any bad pop-ups or anything that come from the site. So far for me it works great. So yeah that’s about it.

If your currently learning Japanese you might want to check this program out. It’s basically a a flash card program, but a little “smarter”. I’ve used it for about 20 minutes or so and i liked it a lot. Here’s the link to the site:

Instead of me trying to explain the program just go to the above link and download it. It’s a free program and it’s about 11MB in size. I would recommend this to Japanese students who have learned at least some of the basic Japanese grammatical structure as the program only teaches you vocabulary. So give it a try and let me know what you think and I’ll post up in the future and let you know how well it’s working for me.

Here’s the first vLog i have and i’ll have another in about a week.

Now i want to talk about The Silent Invasion a special produced by OPB. It was a good program and it really made me think about the worlds ecosystem. One part of me wants to stop all the invasive species, but the other part thinks that it’s part of the ecosystem. We as humans are part of the worlds ecosystem and how we affect the environment is part of the natural cycle.

Ultimately i feel that Oregon and the places i love should stay natural and we shouldn’t deliberately introduce outside species. And we should try to eliminate invasive species, but the measures we take should be put under a microscope. I don’t think using harmful chemicals in the removal of invasive plants is the answer, rather human labor is the only way to go.
